Glenn "The Strangler" Danzig Knocked Out
I have been listening to Danzig in one form or another since 1986. Obviously I love old Misfits albums like Walk Among Us and Earth A.D./Die Die My Darling but I have to admit, I would find it hilarious to see Danzig start shit with someone and actually get his ass handed to him. That would be some funny shit.
Well, that's exactly what happened on Saturday, DANZIG frontman Glenn Danzig allegedly got into a scuffle with NORTH SIDE KINGS singer and frequent SOULFLY collaborator Danny Marianinho following DANZIG's performance in Tuba City, Arizona (July 3).
Without going into the story too much, the night was not going well for the bands who were opening up for Danzig. Due to whatever reasons, bands were not being allowed to play. Some having driven six hours to play the venue. Also, since they were not playing, they were not being paid, so it's easy to see how this situation could not be too cool for some bands, doing their tour van-style. I guess Danzig has forgotten what it's like to tour that way.
The following is Marianinho's official statement regarding the incident:
I doubted it myself until I saw the clips from the video. I grabbed a couple screenshots to show and tell part of the story, to show Danzig kind of deserved it. Whatever the guy might have said, he went for his throat. You go for a guy's throat, expect to get punched back, no?
Here is the Northside Kings singer telling Danzig he and the band had driven six hours to play the show, and that it sucked that he was so inconsiderate of the other bands, etc...
Clearly, going for the throat, and the singer is trying to gain his balance and pull his arms off his throat. What happens next is more than obvious, and logical. Danzig takes a Thor-like punch to the face and goes down. One punch, down for the count.
Well, we didn't learn How the Gods Kill, and I never like to insult guys I actually like. But it looks like Satan's Child got "knocked the fuck out."

I confronted Mr. Danzig backstage while he was signing autographs and told him I thought he was an asshole because of his 'rock star' attitude and no consideration towards the FEW other bands that got bumped off tonight. In a fit of rage he turned around and slammed me into the wall yelling 'Fuck you, motherfucker,' trying to be a big, tough guy in front of his fans. I, in self-defense, punched him in the face, knocking him out as he was attacking me again. He went down, bleeding from his mouth, eyes rolled back, and in shock that he got knocked to the floor so quickly.
A friend happened to tape the entire incident and this is all documented. Many witnesses saw him attack me, and I did what any man would do.
I apologize for nothing, except for the poor little kids that had to witness this big asshole get his ass kicked in a matter of seconds..."
